If people reject you, it’s not always your fault. They probably reject the part of themselves they reject in you.
If people abandon you, it’s not always your fault. We abandon parts of ourselves when we abandon someone else.
If people mistreat you, it’s not always your fault. They have no clue that when they are afflicting mistreatment onto others, they are afflicting the same kind of mistreatment onto to themselves.
The beautiful thing about the mirror effect is that it goes both ways. It’s a good indicator of how we feel and who we are.
So the next time someone is rude to you, think of the mirror effect and try not to take it too personally, unless you are being an ass, of course.
